Councillor Josh Mastin-Lee is a Conservative councillor representing the Finchley Church End ward, elected in March 2025. His election followed the passing of long-serving councillor and former Mayor of Barnet, Eva Greenspan, whose legacy of dedication to the community he has pledged to honour and continue. Winning the by-election with a decisive majority, Josh quickly established himself as a committed and energetic voice for local residents.
Since joining Barnet Council, Josh has taken on responsibilities across several committees, including the Strategic Planning Committee, the Council Pension Fund Committee, and Planning Committee as a substitute member. His work reflects a keen interest in ensuring that Barnet’s growth and development are managed responsibly, with a focus on safeguarding the character of local communities while meeting the needs of residents.
Josh serves alongside fellow ward councillor Jennifer Grocock and our candidate Sachin Rajput, forming a strong and experienced Conservative team for Finchley Church End. With Jennifer’s focus on community safety and Sachin’s extensive experience in council leadership and public service, Josh benefits from working within a team that combines fresh energy with seasoned expertise. Together, they provide continuity, accessibility, and a clear vision for the ward.
Josh has emphasised his determination to be accessible and responsive, holding regular surgeries in familiar community venues such as Stephens House & Gardens, Finchley Church End Library, and local cafés, where residents can raise concerns and seek advice directly. His approach blends respect for tradition with a forward-looking vision. By honouring Eva Greenspan’s decades of service while bringing his own energy and commitment to the role, Josh has positioned himself as a councillor who values continuity but is also ready to address new challenges facing Finchley Church End.
Residents have already come to see him as a councillor who listens, acts, and advocates with conviction, ensuring their voices are heard at Barnet Council.
