Amanda was born in Barnet and raised in Brunswick Park ward where she still lives.
She has over 12 years campaigning experience and has also held officer roles in local Conservative associations.
She is a professional First aid trainer and assessor, holding a national teaching qualification, and has been volunteering with a national children’s charity since 2009 where she has been award several times for good service.
Amanda brings with her a lot of local knowledge and experience which would prove invaluable for working with Barnet Council.
She is very concerned at the state of the local council finances over the last 4 years under Labour control, the appalling state of the local roads, both potholes and the sudden appearance of a vast quantity of speed bumps, and has been fighting for a number of years over the overdevelopment and eco impact of the NLBP, of which she is a member of a local residents committee concerned with this issue.
Amanda is also very concerned about the rise in crime rates locally, attending a meeting not long ago where senior police officers spoke.
Barnet has always been a wonderful place to live and raise children. Excellent schools, nice neighbours, large open green spaces and a wonderful community spirit. Amanda wants to work to maintain this, and get Barnet council back to running without a huge projected black hole budget of £88 million!
