Councillors Val Duschinsky & Elliot Simberg Announce Major Accessibility Upgrade

"We are absolutely delighted to share some fantastic news with the Mill Hill community. Your local councillors, Val Duschinsky and Elliot Simberg, are thrilled to confirm that Network Rail will commence works to provide step-free access at Mill Hill Broadway station in 2026. The project is expected to be completed by Summer 2026, making the station fully accessible for everyone, by providing lifts from the undercroft to platforms 1, 2 and 3.

This significant milestone is the result of tireless effort and unwavering commitment. As promised, Val and I have been working diligently, for many years to make step-free access a reality at our local station. We know how important this upgrade is for residents with mobility challenges, parents with prams, and all those who have found the current station layout a barrier to travel and concern to safety.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the many residents who have campaigned passionately for step-free access over the years. Your voices have made a real difference and have helped bring about this positive change for our community.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Network Rail for listening to our concerns, engaging with the community, and ultimately securing the necessary funding for this vital project. It is wonderful to see local advocacy and partnership with national organisations delivering results that will benefit everyone in Mill Hill Broadway and beyond.

We look forward to keeping you updated as works progress and will continue to champion improvements that make our area accessible and welcoming for all."
