Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, has continued her campaign in support of residents affected by the Cat Hill development by L&Q. She has written a fresh round of letters of protest and concern to Enfield Council and developers, L&Q, following alarming reports of the effect building works at Cat Hill are having on local residents’ homes and lives.

Ms Villiers said: “This development is having an intolerable impact on my constituents. The constant noise and thumping has not only taken a toll on residents’ properties but also on their daily lives, with some feeling they have to vacate their homes during the week to get some rest.”

“I campaigned strongly against this development which damages our local environment. I was deeply disappointed when Enfield Council gave it the go ahead. I am alarmed about the structural damage which is being reported as a result of the building works. I am especially concerned about the adverse effect that the works are having on the health and quality of life of local residents – particularly the elderly who cannot easily get away from the noise. Their lives are being made a misery by these building works.”

“I have already remonstrated with L&Q and Enfield Council about these problems and will keep up the campaign.”

Cat Hill campaigner, Dr Kim Coleman, has also made reports of flooding in gardens and the Nature Reserve, and diggers working inside protected wildlife areas.
