Council Tax is the largest household bill for many. We’ve worked hard to keep your council tax as low as we possibly can: each year since 2010, council tax has been frozen or cut by your Conservative councillors, resulting in a real terms decrease. Once again there is no increase in Council Tax to fund general services.
As our population grows older, we face increasing demands on the budget thanks to the higher proportion of elderly residents. After consultation, we will be applying a 3% social care precept to bills this year. For a Band D property, this means £2.80 per month: which will allow us to provide care and support for some of the most vulnerable people in our community, without cutting any of your essential services.
